You can create players to embark on a career, or select them from a draft class. Before you play, you can act as coach, picking your team's roster, tendencies, playbooks and actions in different situations on the court. In "my player" mode, you can control nearly every attribute of your chose, created or downloaded player's game, down to how often he scores on inside shots, outside shots or how effective he is playing "on-the-ball" defense. While it has always been possible to set a computer opponent's skill level, NBA 2K12 has a detailed list of attributes for each player, represented by bar chart-like sliders. NBA 2K12's "Association Online" lets 30 people create a league, complete with head-to-head matchups, stats and leaderboards selectable from a menu screen. Game modes have also expanded out to eight, due largely to enhanced online play options. You can even manage what music you want played in the arena at specified points in the game, like a jumpball, timeout, replay or stadium intro. You can share player DNA with others, upload a created team or draft class or even your own custom slider settings.
There are also some continued evolutionary advancements to last year's rudimentary social-networking efforts by 2K, letting players upload to destinations like Facebook and YouTube their saved replays as highlight reels, create playlists of tracks that make up the game's ubiquitous soundtrack. That creates almost endless possible matchups to determine such things as whether Wilt Chamberlain or Patrick Ewing would have had the edge in a head-to-head campaign or which of the championship Jordan-led Bulls teams was the best. I believe that NBA 2K13 will have "Greatest Mode" back and with those team I will replace them with legendary NCAA team match-ups so you will unlock the legendary teams. ĭepending on how you perform in these games will either keep on your team that recruited you or you will only make it to D-2 basketball (D-League) the names of the teams will be replaced with D-2 top basketball teams but I'm not doing player since the majority of you won't even go there.
